Founded in 1947, California Central Airlines was a low-fare intra-state carrier. Operations started in January 1949, but after a few successful years its fares proved too low and it went bankrupt in February 1954. California Central Airlines operating Martin 202s and DC-3s and was owned by the same owners of California Hawaiian Airlines.
